Hey everyone, just wanting to get a little advice from those of you that have aftermarket rear bumpers. I just acquired a Kaymar rear bumper for my 94 80 series. I have a OME 2" suspension with heavy coils in the front and an ARB bull bar. I have mediums coils in the rear and wanting to know if that is sufficient or is it always recommended to go with heavies?. The bumper is about 150 lbs and I probably carry only about 50lbs of equipment in the rear on any given day. When we do go on trips most of the weight is on the roof as I have 3 kids. Thanks for any and all advice :)

Personally I think mediums are fine, if you added a spare, gas, water, recovery gear + roof weight also then you might be looking at a squatting truck. I used medium springs with custom bumper + tire swing + gas cans and found it very nice!

You're kind of in between medium and heavy IMO.
Medium coils are rated for up to 200# over stock constant load
Heavy coils are rated for 200-440# over stock constant load

Translates to mediums favoring daily driving weight, and heavies favoring loaded travel weight.
