Quick/Easy Camping Near Bay Area?

Does anyone have any recommendations for first come first served camping (I dont think there is any dispersed camping that close, but if there is please surprise me) within ~90 minutes or so of the east bay? Something for a quick out of town on a Friday night coming back on Sunday that typically has space available? Oh, dog friendly too.

Stanislaus National Forest is where I told my wife we should go. It is about 3 hours or so and on Friday evening it is likely closer to 5 (Altamont Pass is hell). If we do decide to go there, we would likely leave early Saturday morning.

We are going to go look around. No real plans. I have looked at some fire roads and have some decent ideas on where I want to go, but will have to go see it to be sure.

We decided on the OHV Park by Crandall Peak.

Happy we camped there. One other set of campers a few hundred yards away. Super dusty, but nothing the hose and a shower couldn’t handle.
