So here we go.
Being that I work and Broadway and we will be shut down until September at the earliest my wife and I have decided to hit the road in our stock 2018 Jeep JLU. The two of us and our 6 year old daughter. This will also be the first time doing any camping for the little one.
The plan is to leave NY and camp and visit friends on the way down to Florida to visit some of my family that we haven't seen in about a year.
Leaving home just outside of NYC with the first stops planned thus far as follows.
PA to visit some friends
Camping in Virginia Shenandoah Valley region
Camping in North Carolina - Grayson Highlands State Park. Read about the ponies and my daughter is very excited about it.
Atlanta to visit friends
Savanna to visit friends
Camping in FL before getting to family near West Palm area FL to Family.
Depending on time we have not yet ruled out visiting friends in Texas, Tennessee, Kansas, and Colorado.
Also fun for me I plan to drive solo from NY to Portland OR to pick up the Autohome Airtop rooftop tent that will be going on the Jeep from a friend. Very lightly used at a price I couldn't turn down. I've got the time so why not.
I have been using GAIA and Google Maps to look at routes and campsites. More details to come as things get more ironed out.
We're very excited about this and introducing out daughter to enjoying more time outdoors. Being stuck in the house so much has been a real bummer for all of us.
