Hello All,

I am looking to do a road trip from Florida to Michigan , with time in Blue Ridge , GA area in the beginning of August and I want to included some trails and camping. I have a 2020 4 runner SR5P with stock suspension with good tires and recovery gear (winch, tracs, hilift) moderate 4x4 experience too. I wanted to see if anyone had any good suggestions for locations or must haves for the journey. Any where there are lakes to go kayaking too. It would be great to get some not to technical trails , fire roads or must see places.

Current set up.
Goat Armor
Jackery 500 w/100w Solar
ICECO 45 L Fridge
inflatable kayak
Yakima racks +++
Front TRD Skid plate
smittybilt 10,000 winch
recover kit
max tracs
camping gear
USB fans and nosee-um screen for car windows
water jugs
Portable shower
shade / rain cover
SPOT EPIRB

My Jeep is a Blue Ridge, Ga "native". I'm not sure how long or what you plan on doing in that area. But, you will have a lot of choices to camp, fish & explore for sure.

If you plan on spending several days and have a ground tent or a trailer, I suggest staying at a developed campground like Morganton Point. (Where we stay in the area). It's not free. But, it is cheap and a SAFE place to leave your camp set up while you explore. (You have several other choices as well. But, this one is the most convenient to Blue Ridge.)

You need to check out Copperhill. TN on a day trip. It's just north of Blue Ridge, Ga and a really cool small mountain town. Hiawassee, Ga is another N. Ga town that shouldn't be missed. (It's our favorite town in Georgia!)

Be sure to check out the Georgia Traverse Route!
You definitely want to do as much as you can of it because it's probably the BEST Overland Route in the entire southeastern United States. -
