Overland trip NorCal/Oregon

Im taking an Overland trip starting in Lake Tahoe area and then heading into NorCal and southern Oregon. I am posting to see if anyone has any suggestions of places to go, things to see, trails to take, or just anything that you think is worth experiencing. My best friend and I only have a few concert destination plans, (kinda just going with the flow haha) but please feel free to leave any recommendation!!!!


FYI: heading out 8/15 and will be on the road until 8/25ish

If you have time to go to Crater Lake, I highly recommend it.

Our Main stops are to go to be Rubicon, Lassen NP, Mendocino NF, Redwood NP, Crater Lake. (As of now)

Get national forest maps for the forests you plan on visiting and find all the Fire Lookouts and visit as many as you can

We really liked the lava tubes. They are just south of Klamath Falls. The tree house resort near Cave Junction is another favourite. The jet boat in Grants Pass is a lot of fun too.

I grew up in Klamath Falls, and used to go to the Lava Beds once or twice a year. Loved all the exploring I could do underground. Haven't been there since I was in college, so I guess it's about time I go back.
