New to this with a 2019 4Runner off road

Just starting and looking into overlanding and doing upgrades on my currently stock 4Runner. Car spends time in upstate New York and northern Utah so any suggestions on places to go, upgrades to start with or gear to get is appreciated

Winch, it comes in handy besides getting you one stuck or somebody on the trail on stack you can also use it to move trees that have fallen on the trails.
