Hello all my name is Dave callsign AE5TE and first of all I want to tip my hat to TahoePPV for telling me about this forum. I am originally from the beach in western Oregon where I did a lot of off roading when I was younger. Now I am retired with some health challenges, trying to get some new adventures under my belt while I'm still somewhat able. I just bought a new traveling setup consisting of a 2021 Sundance Ultralight riding behind a new to me 2018 F150 XLT 4WD Supercrew with Coyote power, Texas Edition. My wife and I are on the shakedown cruise at this moment, traveling from New Mexico through the southwest and ultimately to our old stomping grounds in Oregon. Along the way we are assessing our abilities and trying to determine what we may need in order to make our travels more enjoyable. For instance I use oxygen equipment and I can already tell my concentrators need upgrading, and I'll probably need to add some kind of terrain friendly mobility scooter. Here is our rig as it sits today:

... What brought you there?...
I worked in the construction equipment business and things got tough on the west coast in 2008-2009. Meanwhile the oil field was starting to take off and I had contacts in the area that got me hooked into that and it paid off pretty well for me for a decade. Now I guess what's keeping me there is a paid off mortgage and relatively low taxes. And if you know Hobbs you know it leans toward the gritty side, what folks seem to treasure most here is being left alone and for the most part the powers that be oblige. After a lifetime in western Oregon I kind of like that.

Figured it was the casino or the oil. Oil was very good to my family as well for awhile anyways.
