So, I've been running an Edge programmer in my diesel for 150k miles.. flawless, but not Ca legal. I finally decided to get a CA legal one. So thinking that Banks is a big name, their product should be good..... NOT!!!
Immediately after install the truck wouldn't start, all kinds of codes getting sent. So I get it to finally work...kind of.. got to my job ok, but when I went to leave work...the truck wouldn't start. I spent a couple of hours removing the programmer, and the truck ran great for a day... Now it's in the shop, we think it fried my Camshaft and or crank shaft sensor... It took me 3 days to get a response from Banks, but they will refund me the cost of the programmer at least.

With 150k miles on I don't see it as unreasonable that you lost a sensor. That being said, any flash or programmer shouldn't control the RefV going to those sensors. What is the code history for what the ECU was reporting with the programmer engaged?

Any updates so far on which sensor went?

I have an update, and I'm excited to say that my mechanic punched me in the arm.... I deserved it. Yes the tuner was screwed up, but the reason the truck ran like crap after I removed it was because knucklehead here forgot to tighten the negative connection to the frame. Truck runs great and I have a bruise to remind me to check all terminations....

Right. On. Screw pride. I'll take the cheap fix and the embarrassment.
