Hello everyone!
New member here from Sacramento California.
Current vehicles: 2017 Jeep Renegade Sport 4x4, Daystar 1.5" lift Toyo A/t tires 225 75 r16. 1991 Chevy 2500 4x4 3 inch lift A/T tires.
Former 4x4: 1987 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Rubicon Express lift 33" tires. (regret getting rid of this)
I have done a fair share of off roading in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in my past. That was with a much more capable rig than I have now. The Renegade gets me to work, I am a wildlife biologist and have to go to some crazy places in my line of work. The Renegade fit the bill getting decent gas mileage while being somewhat capable off road. The Chevy is my back up for muddy job sites with a high likelihood of getting stuck.
I am looking to do some weekend trips with my wife and kid, and will likely be getting a new vehicle that is both reliable and capable, not one or the other like I have now. I am thinking about getting a full size truck to build into an overlander, maybe a Tundra or newer Chevy pickup. Any advise on that would be appreciated.
This is my daily driver, I am sure you can imagine what the Chevy truck looks like :-).
