I'm excited to be a new member of the team. I drive a 2005 HUMMER H2. I have a bit of experience with off roading but would not consider myself an expert by any means. I love in the Salt Lake area and frequent many of the red rocks of Utah. I'm looking forward to new friends and cleanup events.

View attachment 80750 Nice to meet you all. Been exploring all my life but this is the start of my first overland build.
Love to travel with my wife, two daughters and a 150lb mastiff, so this Tundra CrewMax gives us lots of room.

New guy here in Carlsbad, CA. Just moved here from out of state and currently have a few mechanicals holding me back, but i'm looking forward to getting out and exploring in the Spring and Summer.

Currently in a 72' FJ40, but that might get replaced by something more family friendly.

Hello Everyone, Exploring this planet is something that has had my attention since I was a child. I hope that I am finally in a position that I can get out there and see what there is to see. I have a very supportive wife and two daughters that will be my travel companions. We call NC home and will be taking our first trip out west this year! Current Rig '09 JKU Rubicon-lift, tires, winch, gears etc.... Fixing to move to a 4th gen 4runner (read: comfort).... I look forward to the experiences ahead.

Hi, my name is Brian, New Jersey, brand new to over landing, 2018 Subaru Forester, no mods lol, I just finished a small 4x7 utility trailer that I enclosed and has a roof top tent on it. I've camped for years but now I wanna try something new. Thinking about taking a small National Parks tour Memorial Day weekend/week down 81, if any body knows of any really cools pots I would be able to get too with minimal damage to my car lol let me know. Thanks for the add and looking forward to lots of cool adventures.

Hey all,
Stephen from Lincoln/Sacramento CA area and look forward to meeting good people in this area. New to the forum and overlanding. Drive Rig: 2004 YukonXL 2500 with Quadrasteer. Quadrasteer allows this whale of a rig (130" wheel base) make u-turns under 40'...in other words tighter than most sedans. Also started an off road trailer build. Hoping to learn about trails that accommodate larger rigs. Thanks!

New Members,

Welcome to the Overland Bound community! Please take a few moments to introduce yourself so we can get to know you!

A few things you might want to include in your introduction are:

1) Picture! If you have a rig, we want to see it!
2) Location (General area is fine)
3) Rig (Year, Make, Model, etc.)
4) Overlanding Experience Background (Novice or Experienced, you're welcome here!)

We're glad you've found us and look forward to sharing our adventures with you!

In addition to getting to know you, here are the guideline sent to all Moderators of the forums. It's a natural reflection of our community, and what Overland Bound is all about:

From @administrator
  • Overlanding is: "Vehicle Dependent Travel". Nothing else.
  • We will not further define "overlanding".
  • "Capable" depends on the requirements of the trip, and we take that very seriously.
  • You are an Overlander: Overlanding is for everyone who has exploration and adventure in their heart, or, who need to be reinvigorated by connecting with nature. Nature is unforgiving. You must rise to a certain level of personal awareness to survive. Sound right? Overlanding is for you.
  • Encourage uncomplicated ventures into the great outdoors. Don't over pack.
  • Be prepared, and understand basic requirements. Question folks, to be sure they are aware of what is required. Don't assume.
  • Share without reservation, trip locations, and information.
  • It doesn't matter what you drive: The only requirement of an Overlander is that the vehicle serves the job required, safely.
  • We do not care about make or model.
  • We do not engage in "this is better than that" competitions.
  • We DO give advice about how to make your vehicle ready for what you need. Share knowledge.
  • Humility.
  • We respect, fear, and protect nature.
  • "I don't know" is a great answer.
  • We don’t brag about exploits.
  • We seek answers from the community when we don’t know.
  • We engage in the very smallest of interactions.
Hi all! Stoked to be a member of such a cool community.

Location: Phoenix, AZ
