How is this this trip suited for big rigs? I drive a ‘24 Expedition.

Just crawled out of the Bull Trout Lake area after 5 days. Chased out by snow on the last day. This trip looks like fun, would love to join. Have a question on the road where you plan to jump off paved roads. Asking because I would be coming up Hwy 20 from Boise direction (about 3 hours). If you plan to head back down 20 from Arco I could save some wasted driving expense picking up everyone where you would turn off.

Running a full-size pickup with popup camper.

On-X describes the Lemhi Pass as "Steep & Narrow" though I have several photos of full size vehicles like a Tundra driving it. Can you air down your expedition tires for rough and steep sections? That should help. Lemhi Pass should be the only place that might be tight for you.

You are welcome to join us wherever works for you. Be sure to download the .GPX route (or OnX) and have good distance communication so you are aware where we will be and when. My experience has been mixed with meeting up mid route, kind of like trying to hit two arrows mid flight :) but it can happen! The biggest issue is if we have to re-route, then we will meet up at the planned campgrounds.

We are a week out from the trip, has everyone been able to download the tracks and waypoints? Any last minute questions? What comms will you have in the vehicle? We are really looking forward to this!

I am debating between this trip or the alpine loop in colorado. I cannot find a functioning map for your planned route; probably bc i am on a phone. I would have a wrangler unlimited pulling a trailer. I pulled this trailer up backdoor to crown king so its not an issue except on switch backs. What do you think about trailers on this route

If you are used to pulling a small trailer on 4x4 routes of a class 4, then you should be ok. I can't guarantee that unexpected washouts and the like could cause you more trouble. We are always happy to lend a hand! Just be prepared with shovels and recovery gear. On-X is a great resource for mapping and trail information- I am a Trail Guide for them, you can use the code TRAILGUIDE30 to get 30% off and give it a shot. Highly recommended and works great on your cell phone. I don't get any kickback if you sign up. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

My Error, Lemhi Pass is rated a 6- but it really doesn't look like a 6. Going to Dollhouse in Canyonlands was a 6, and this doesn't look near as technical from the photos I've seen.
