This is a common issue with 1st and 2nd gen Tacoma's (not sure about 3rd gens).

You get your pretty new lift kit installed, and you start to hear a whirring/roaring sound coming from the drivers side front wheel. The sound comes from the needle bearing bushing in the drivers side front differential, and is caused by the added weight on the bearing from you lift.

Fortunately, there is a solution created by East Coast Gear Supply (product link). REPLACE THIS BEARING BEFORE INSTALLING YOUR LIFT. ECGS also makes a bearing removal tool and install tool. I encourage tacoma owners to spread the word, and if they've already done this project, to offer help to other owners. If you have the install/removal tools let us know if your in the area and willing to share!
