Lake Victoria: Uganda/Kenya/Tanzania

Hi All,

Does anyone have any experience with the 1,600km perimeter route of Lake Victoria through Uganda/Kenya/Tanzania?? Road conditions? Doable with a regular sedan? Safety a concern in any areas? Will contact car rental companies, but any thoughts on rental across borders and restrictions? And lastly, we only have a week unfortunately, but 250km/day realistic?

We were thinking of getting a flight into Entebbe/Kampala, Jinja/Mutai Uganda, Kisumu in Kenya, Tarime area in Tanzania, Ukerewe island in Tanzania, Mawanza Tanzania, Burigi game reserve area, and one last leg in Uganda maybe near Masaka area in Uganda prior to returning to Kampala. Any highlights along the way that you would think would be a not to be missed?!

I wish I could give you some answers. I did however look on YouTube and there are a bunch of videos about Lake Victoria. Maybe you will find some of the answers you seek in those videos.
My visit to Africa never took me that far south.
