Has anyone ever camped out there? My wife wants to go camping on Memorial Weekend and that is where she chose. I wanted Delamar, NV for some metal detecting in the ghost town. $20 a night to tent camp vs free desert camping, Wife happy vs wife not happy, mosquitos vs no mosquitos.. All input is appreciated.

I lived more or less full time at Lake O'Neill for my last year in the Corps. This was six years ago now, but it's a great little spot.

It's a pretty typical RV campground, full hookup, partial hookup, electric only, dump station, shower house, etc...

Bugs aren't bad, and it's not too hot (depending on your tolerance). There's no swimming at the lake because it's a drinking water reservoir, but it's also only 20 minutes from Camp Delmar and the beach.

It can get pretty packed on weekends if it's a holiday, or if there's an event going on, so definitely double check that.

Thank you for the information. So far Memorial weekend is open for tent camping.
