2019 raptor supercrew.
decked system in bed with Leitner over that.
two crescent kayaks: ultra lite (10') and splash 2 (13').
I plan on adding a roof top tent system on top of Leitner rack.
would there be enough clearance to mount kayaks on roof of truck cap with a thule set up and still clear the tent?
any better ways?
if solo kayak, I simply set on top of decked "deck" and use cinch straps with a red flag as it sticks out 4'.
thanks.
first time posting.
wish there were more events in the Midwest!!

Possible yes, practical no.

Both yaks in the bed with a flag is still the best route. Ground tent is the best solution for all of my camping that includes kayaking. Generally my camper, or RTT, spots have no kayaking. And my best kayak lakes have good tent camping spots.

If I stick with this hobby, I'll get a folding kayak for use with a slide in camper. Right now I'm staying as light, cheap, and simple as possible. Ground tent etc.

so, Yakima system in bed failed due to space constraints.
ended up going with inexpensive 5'x8' std utility trailer, Malone top tier utility rack and generic amazon j style and flat racks. worked awesome! now holds three kayaks and up to 5 bikes! whole system was cheaper than Yakima proprietary towers, rails, etc. rei was great: gave full refund on all components even after I unboxed, installed and threw out receipts and boxes! I love rei!!
