I need a new rig! Defender or Discovery?

I'm looking for a rig to take me on some long trips round Europe I have planned. I'm new to overlanding (i'm 33, I wish i'd done this sooner) and I want to get a Land Rover. I have some driving experience with Land Rovers before from the military and I want it to be a British vehicle that I drive. Although I have looked at Jeeps, Toyotas and Suzukis, I feel the Land Rover is where my heart lies.

But...what to get, Defender or Discovery?

Help me decide. I welcome your comments!

I’d buy a Toyota, but that’s only because I’ve owned a Jeep and a Land Rover. But if you have to decide between a Defender or a Discovery, you have to go Defender!
