First question: I drive a 2000 Cherokee. One gotten a 3.5 lift and I've got 31 inch tires. I was trying to get into overlanding but dont have a ton to spend. Any suggestions what to get? I'm not planning on anymore lift or tires for now. So either performance mods or cosmetics would he helpful. Thanks!!

Take some trips and figure out the things that you will want to make travel and set-up quick and easy as to be able to head out with the group you are running with. Recovery points and gear are probably more important than anything else other than keeping your rig in tip top condition.

Hey Caleb, ...well first off I would make sure you have all the proper tools and gear you need . Keep it simple to start. First aid, fire extinguisher, shovel, axe, and your sleeping set up. How do you plan to use your rig? Sleeping inside or out? Start here before going crazy on accessories. You will just get lost in the chaos. Once you just go out a few times, you'll find out what you need and don't. Get some reliable recovery gear but don't go crazy. Then just get out there and have fun. Make sure you share it with us and we'll be happy to help any way we can along the way. Good luck and safe travels.

first off take care of all your mechanical need , change all fluids , tune up , belts ,hoses , check all suspension components for wear , brakes and check and clean all your electrical connections . All the lift tires and camping goodies in the world won't do a bit of good if your ride breaks down

The first things I would get would be a good come-a-long (hand winch) , a bottle jack, and a piece of 3/4” or 1”plywood about 12”x24” to use for a base for the jack on soft ground. Using a bigger piece of plywood like this it can also double as a makeshift recovery mat and something flat to lay on when you have to work under your truck.

With the lift and 31's you'll have you choice of roads to play on. I've been running my 97 Tacoma on 31's with no lift for nearly 20 years and have been over many miles of Colorado/Wyoming back roads, passes and up to Banff Ca and back. You'll want to identify the line where your diff's are so you know what parts of the truck have the least clearance so you can choose a line while driving that keeps tall rocks from passing under your rig on that line.

If you are looking to accessorize, I would suggest getting a set of Rock sliders to protect your sides/ 1/4ter panels. (IIRC rocky-road.com has a bolt on set for the 2000.)
Other than that First aid kit, Tool kit, fire extinguisher, and a pen/notebook. Roll out and see what you need, Write it down on the pad and budget for it when you get home.
