Hello all,
I have a low mile Jeep JK.2010. Now that the temps are cold, I got, Tick, tick, tick and gone on startup. Even using a good brand of synthetic oil. So, I wrote in to one of the Jeep forums that I am a member of. Asking our brothers, to the North of us, what oils do they run in Canada? Got back a couple of the same suggestions to go with a Nappa oil filter #41516, and to use Amsoil 5wt.-30 XL oil. I just want to pass on that this did work in my Jeep. I had even people with both the 3.8 and 3.6 motors having the same trouble and when this was used stop the lifters ticking at startup. Maybe, it was more the filter with the antidrain back valve, that did the trick? But, I did go with the oil as it is good oil any way. The oil was not cheap! But is good for 10,000 miles between oil changes. And again, so far, no more tick, tick, tick and gone at startup! Vance.
