This is not really an overland trip since it was all paved roads and no camping was involved, but thought I'd share anyways.

This was back in 2013.
I Drove from Mt Evans peak (just over 14k feet, highest paved road in North America) to Badwater Basin in Death Valley, CA(-260ft, lowest paved point in Western Hemisphere) in *almost* 24 hours.
I say almost, because It took me 25 hours. I forgot about the time change, so while i got to both places at 5:40am local time, it was 6:40am Mountain Time when I got to Death Valley.

Wish I had some more interesting pictures or a more interesting story to go with it, but maybe it will inspire some others to do the same thing or similar... Maybe with more camping... Or go offroad and go higher.

Already planning to drive Mt. Evans will probably find to lowest point in CO., Instead of taking the entire family to AZ.
