Hi there, In 2019 I traveled from Toronto to tadoussac to Lab city and across to Cartwright down to NL and back home
Later in the year I went and visited the rest of the maritime provinces.

So I dont want to go east this year but was thinking somewhere west of ontario or south into the states

Help me decide on a good overland route, should be around 2 weeks and in the month of June.
Needs to be mostly gravel roads, mild offroad, musts have some offroad in the trip. would prefer more that less, and visiting major/small cities and camping in campgrounds along the way.

anyone with any Ideas please post up
Thank you.

what level of offroad are you looking for? are you looking to move constantly or stay a few days in one spot to do day trips? I tend to hit the Muskoka area a lot because that's where I grew u and I know a lot of the back roads and "off the beaten path" camp sites. There is always Ardbeg, or the five points trail system to look into, or VMUTS. you could probably take 2 weeks exploring all of those areas if you havn't been to them.

Thank you for your reply.

I will definatly consider all those areas.

Looking for more conservative areas.

I have a tacoma. There is no way Tacoma's can offroad.

Thanks.
I know I have come across Tacoma clubs on the ardbeg trails. Most of the spots I get into tend to either involve some offroad or a kayak lol. Have you looked into the OF4WD for trail maps? They list difficulty levels, and some camp sites.

The wife and I toured around Death Valley and Joshua tree and it was great. I didn't have my own rig though, we flew into Vegas and drove out from there with a rental.
All the other places are on my bucket list too!

Flying somewhere seems like the smart thing to do.
A good rental will not break down and you saved alot of time by flying.
Sounds like it was fun.

I actually wanted to do route 66 and end up in moab.

Or just hi tail it to baja California or Mexico
Never been away from home for more than 12 days so while I want.to do this stuff I'm a little apprehensive.

Well I will do something in June and right now its looking like a 2 week round trip to BC.

Ya I usually don't get too much time away from work ( or at least I am not able to pry myself away that often) and my wife plans most of our trips. We have been to the Galapagos, Iceland, Peru, the Amazon, and driven parts of the US. Most of our trips involve just driving around until we see something interesting. We have a little one now so I think a northern Ontario trip is due. I think a trip to BC or Nova Scotia would be nice too. Maybe some time down the road!

Yea I hear what your saying man.
Good luck with your planning and hopefully we can meet up if there is a Rally Point thing going on sometime.

Looking like there may be one in September at the Barrie agriplex still in planning stages. I may make it up there for that depending on my schedule lol

Alaska - On my long term list.
Moab - Amazing place. Make sure to hit Canyonlands and drive the Shafer Trail all the way back to town (~26 miles)
Death valley - On my short term list
Trans america trail parts of it - YES! - On my long term list. Especially interested in the spur that goes from New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and on to Oregon and the Pacific.
Rubicon trail - I haven't researched this one, but it sounds great.
Out to bc - I've been to Vancouver and up to Squamish. Lots of great food, drink and people. I was bummed that the rental company swapped me the Jeep we had rented for a BMW suv.
Colorado - Way too many rad trails. My brother and I did the Boreas Pass Road over the Continental Divide. We camped at 11,000 feet. Amazing trip.

Boreas Pass - My brother, dad and all the boys.. We saw a beaver!

Depending on which direction you are heading into Death Valley I would recommend the Titus canyon road in. We rented a car for our trip because we flew into Vegas and drove out, but the canyon was a nice drive into the park and we stopped to take in a few views along the way. 20190201_115628-PANO.jpg20190201_115235.jpg20190201_132950.jpg
