Georgia Traverse 3rd Week of Feb 18

[Louisiana Overland]

I am planning to make a trip up to the smokies next week and drive the georgia traverse. I'll drive up on the 20th and start the trail the following morning. If any of you have free time next week and want to join up for a portion let me know. I could possibly delay a day or so on the whole trip if need be.

Also, good safe camping spots along the way. If you have coordinates or other info, please advise.

Hey Jeff, are you planning to run the GA traverse West to East?

If driving up from Louisiana, what date do you expect to be in GA?

I could make a break next week to ride along but need to be back in Atlanta on Friday afternoon.

Much of the traverse is within 2-3 hours of my home so meeting up to help out with camping sites and running a few trails isn't a problem.

Check the weather before packing (rain suit, tarp, etc.) because this time of year can involve rain and thunder showers many days over the coming weeks.

I was planning on East to West but it really doesnt matter. If you want to join up let me know which direction is bedt for you. Im hoping I can be up there by Tuesday evening and prepared to start the trail Wednesday morning. Im bringing a ground tent but since I am going aolo I will likely just sleep in the rig. Yes!!

We are ending day two at a camosite atop tray mountain where the appelation trail crosses it. Had a great day today on tray mountain road and others. Are you on the traveese also?

Yes headed east to west. I ll post my thoughts on the trail when i am done. Watch for forum members local to this area. One might only need an excuse to get out and get the rig dusty.
