1996 3rd Gen 4Runner SR5 3.4 auto 4wd 170K White/Tan int, power sunroof Largo FL $4500
Listing this is hard for me as I havent wanted to part with this 4runner, but I picked up a new DCSB TRD Off-Road so the 4Runner has to go. It's like selling a child....
Bought this 4Runner from a local Toyota dealer in 2009 with 89K. It has been babied ever since with mostly street driving and a few numbered forest roads. The original single stage paint is in good shape. I wax it yearly and every wash I use a spray wax.
-The interior is very clean for it's age. One tiny hole in the drivers seat from something inside the lower cushion moving and trying to poke out. No major stains on the seats. The carpet is clean, but a little dark in some areas. The center console lid in cracked.
-Most of the wood trim has been removed with the exception of the door panels around the window switches.
-Everything works as it should. A/C blows ice cold, heat works great.
-Has a Pioneer AVH-4400BH DVD touchscreen double din headunit with usb, iphone connection, and bluetooth. The hands free mic is mounted on the upper interior light mount. Has an option for a rear camera, but does not have one.
-Pulled the rear badges a few months ago and the SR5 badge left an outline in the paint (still have them)
Things I have done to it since I bought it:
Headgaskets @135K - had the '96 HG issue - heads were checked by a reputable shop at the time and they checked out fine.
Timing Belt/water pump @135k - Aisin kit, Goodyear belts/hoses, Zerex Asian coolant
Hayden External tranny cooler - @135k (bypassed the cooler in the radiator)
Inner/Outer Tie Rods - @138k used Sankei 555 parts
Energy Suspension Steering Rack Bushings - @138K
TBU - around 110K
New Brembo pads/rotors - around 160k
Toyota Drums/wheel cylinders - around 164k Wagner Quiet stop shoes and hardware
Moog rear springs - Gabriel Ultra rear shocks - around 160K
Toyota rear upper control arms - around 164k
Rokmen rear lower control arms - around 164k
Wheelers Off-Road rear stainless line - around 162K
Beck Arnley tranny mount - around 150K
Toytota 1st-2nd shift solenoid/tranny fluid - around 162K
Moog swaybar links - around 164K
Upgraded headlight harness with replays and SilverStar Ultra bulbs
Duralast Gold battery - around 165k
Silicone vacuum lines - around 168K still have some left that I will include
New Tom Woods 1310 rear driveshaft with gold joints - maybe 20 miles on it. Did not keep it in as there was a small vibe. It is not the shaft as I had swapped in a used rear driveshaft and it had the same vibe. The stock rear shaft does not exhibit the vibe, but has the 3rd gen clunk if not greased about once a month. The only thing I can think that may cause the vibe is a possible sagging motor mount?
Toyota Fuel Filter -around 165k
New windshield and sunroof - around 145k do to a flying rock
Amsoil synthetic Diff lube and tcase lube - around 130K
Front Range Off-Road adjustable panhard bar - around 167k
What it needs:
-Tires
-Alignment is starting to shift so it may need balljoints, I have never replaced them or the front shocks/springs. Front tires are worn on the outer edges.
-Valve cover gaskets leak even though they were done with the timing belt and HG's
-brakes can feel a bit spongy at stops, most on here think it they may need an ABS bleed for this
-Dent in middle part of rear bumper
-Dent in drivers side rear bumper that also dented the quarter. Quarter is small and almost unnoticeable. Someone backed into it in a parking lot. (see pics)
-Tried to show some of the minor dings and paint marks in the pictures
-I pulled the ABS fuse under the hood so the light is on. When pulled, I did not realize is was a bolt in so it broke. Just never replaced it, but can get one if you want it.
-17" 4th Gen 4runner Sport wheels, but they came from the north and the paint is peeling
-One rust spot on the roof. Think it was missed bird poop.
-one bubble spot by the windshield on the passenger side
Tried to list everything possible and will add anything I may have forgotten. I change the oil myself every 3-5k with Mann filters and Mobil 1 or Amsoil. Have 3 Mann oil filters left I will include and a few quarts of Amsoil.
Will also include a Power Bleeder with the sale.
