Eclipse 2017

We have arrived in our Eclipse 2017 viewing spot...Ketchum Idaho. Not a bad trip from Vegas with only some minor traffic issues due to construction on 93. I am lucky enough to have a wife whose boss has a condo in town. Last night town was surprisingly empty, but we will see how that goes today and tomorrow. And now we patiently wait.

We're fortunate enough to live in the path. We live in a narrow little canyon, and the sun won't quite be above the trees yet, so we'll be going a few miles down the road to a nice wide open spot. I was planning to go find a spot in central Oregon, but then started hearing about how many people were coming in from out of state, and decided to stay where I'm at. We're expecting over 1 million people to be in Oregon by Monday morning.

The 18 hour round trip was so worth the 90 seconds of eclipse totality. What an amazing experience that pictures can't convey. Vegas was overcast , but there wasn't a cloud in the sky here.
