DIY Roof Top Tent (RTT)

I did a couple of searches and not finding anything (maybe I used the wrong keywords). Has anyone built their own roof top tent? If so, can you share what you did, or point me to a thread you posted about the build? My plan is for use on a trailer and it will be attached to the lid of the trailer, not up high. I am thinking something similar to GoFastCampers. I have family with an industrial sewing machine so I have help with the canvas. She actually has already replicated a new top for their Four Wheel Camper...turned out great. I used to have a AutoHome Overcamp mounted on the trailer but it was stolen years ago. I am looking for a design that is side and/or rear entry...not from underneath. Thank you!

I've seen rigs where people adapted cot tents such as Double Cot Tent to mount on roof racks or on a trailer rack that actually turned out pretty well as a home made solution.
