DIY roof rack

Does anyone know the weight of an exoskeleton roof rack for a JKU? When I do the numbers for 1/8” wall it seems too heavy to me and I think I can engineer a lighter design without having to resort to using aluminum... as I don’t have a TIG welder

If you are talking about the rugged ridge exo top I believe they are around 170lbs but that includes the skin.
Depending on. What you put up there, most racks don't have an overly high weight rating.
