Anyone got any good ideas for a day trip from the Bay Area?

Looking to do something Sunday February 11th.

Some thoughts around heading out to Calaveras for Corral Hollow and maybe Slick Rock. Although it's a bit of driving for a single day.

Possibly Hollister or Coyote Lake (to fish in Santa Clara valley)

We did Mendocino in one day. A lot of driving, but not too bad. Frank Raines OHV is pretty awesome. Can’t go wrong with Hollister either. Star early and you’ll do fine at either one. Cheers

How's the campgrounds? Needing to take a ride to make sure I don't have a major oil leak before the 17th. Been dripping oil since some recent work.

Busier than I expected for February but it was great. We reserved Site 43 and 44 in the Lakeview campground and we only had a couple of neighbors in our cul-de-sac. Nice and quiet, Rangers drove by a couple of times.

Nice! I'll check out your route. I obtained a nice map from the Forest Service when I was there, which should come in handy as well when planning.

May seems to be a good time to go, but I can't make the first weekend; the following three weekends look good for now.

Memorial day weekend I'm down in Joshua Tree but otherwise free.

Hey everyone. There are a few Colorado’s here in or around Concord that are looking for trips as well.

Me in particular, I’m looking for basic 1-2 day trips for myself and then looking for 2-3 day trips (could be longer or shorter) that are family friendly that the wife and daughter would go on. She would love to meet up with other women that are into camping and off-roading.

Prewitt Ridge might be worth checking out. Didn't make it to Shirttail Creek to give any details
