Hey everyone,

I am looking for spots to go on little weekend camping trips around Middle Tennessee. I don't really want to pay for a campsite next to a bunch of other people. So I am looking for spots off some trails that I can do some primitive camping and not be at an actual pay to camp campsite. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Thanks

It’s a big area. Probably won’t find much around Nashville, but check out the parks & forests online & look for roadside camping. Park rangers catch a bad rap for some reason, but I’ve always found them to be crazy cool & awesome. The websites will have a contact person for the different ranger districts. Send them an email & ask. They’ll usually put you in the right direction. Happy trails.
