Camping/Snow camping in NorCal?

Took my 4runner to Eldorado National Forest last weekend in the snow, was curious of other destinations I could go to before the warm weather arrives? Looking for beginner to moderate trails, car camping (tent on top), fire is a must, maaaaaybe some fishing.

SCrunner, there are TONS of places you can snow camp! It would help if we knew where you were starting from. Sierra Foothills (Nevada City) Bloomfield Rd., Yuba Pass Road, East Sierra Mono Lake, Bishop, Tahoe or Truckee, Head North towards Shasta right now you can go just about anywhere (except west if starting in SF). Get too far off the path suggest good winch, hi-lo, shovels, traction pads, etc....

Are you looking for actual campgrounds or boondocking?

Not sure about fishing this time of year, but the Mendocino National Forest has lots of places to camp and snow this time of year for sure. Be sure to check out their site though, they just temporarily closed a lot of the forest due to bad weather.
