We have a mating pair of mountain lions within a mile of our house (female mating call/scream will chill your blood and make tge hair on your neck stand up). A juvenile mountain lion and I crossed paths (less than 10' between us) behind our property and I watched it disappear into our backyard (last April). We live in a small town in Kansas - not exactly 'big cat' country.
