Traveler III
Hey OB crew! I just joined up here and wanted to say hi!
I moved to Orlando a few months ago from a smaller town north of Tampa. I have a 2016 Subaru Outback with 38,000 miles on it. I tend to make long distance road trips pretty often. I've driven to Wisconsin twice last year, I've been to Houston 4 times and Chicago several times. I grew up north of Chicago in Gurnee, I've already seen a few people on here from around there which is cool.
Due to my high mile trips, fuel economy is one of my goals with my build. I know that not something you hear very often in Overland, but that's how I roll . I try to limit external additions when possible and I'm careful to avoid too much extra weight. I'm trying to find a balance between comfort and gear while keeping my fuel economy as high as possible. My car is stock, except for my tires right now. I'm working on a rear organizer to hold some of my gear. I tend to spend less money on mods and more money on road trips.
I had an RTT for a while and it took 10 MPG off on the highway to it had to go, although I did get some great photos while I had it. I need a better tent solution so I'll probably pick your brains about what everyone here uses.
Anyway, nice to meet you all!
