I am always looking out for gear I might have overlooked or felt I didn’t need in past. I saw (no pun intended) another member post this saw from Agawa Canyon and decided I should add it to my kit. Assembly is simple and straightforward. Once assembled the saw feels solid with very little flex. I’ll be keeping the saw under the seat in my Jeep for those trips to the mountains and those “just in case” moments.

If you’re talking about this...

Otherwise I can’t compare it to another folding bow saw having never used one.

I think the bow saw design is much more ergonomic than the folding saw. I’m also thinking the bow saw is much less fatiguing and more efficient especially when cutting through some good sized logs. I’ve read a few reviews that said the Agawa Canyon saw easily cut through 6-8” logs.

So, I had to go test it out myself. In about a minute I got halfway through this log.

In just a few more minutes I cut all the way through. The disadvantage of a bow saw is having to turn the log to complete the cut if the diameter is bigger than the bow. Still, the saw is very easy to use and made quick work of this log. And I wasn’t even using the “aggressive” blade that came with it.
