After using my Landcruiser for a daily driver I finally saw the light, and bought a 1990 Ford Ranger. 61,000 miles, no rust, new rubber everywhere. I mean everywhere, bed mounts, cab mounts, rear bushings, front bushings, door seals, rear & front window seals, under the hood, etc etc.. The only thing wrong with it is that it sits too low. I’ve ordered a kit which will raise the rear 2” and the front 1.5”. It will be for normal driving duties here in our semi-rural environment. 20 mpgs with that little v6 is a whole different world. Than 11 or 12 with the cruzer. Now the Landcruiser is where it belongs, in the carriage house with all the gear & trailer, patiently awaiting our next tour. Ahh! The 2wd ranger... the cheap trucks that can rule the desert in 2wd and hang with the best. Have fun building it up, it'll be a fun little truck. Good shocks, a truetrac and tires will let you go more places than you'd imagine.
