Bought a 1990 Jeep YJ a few years ago for my daily driver. People thought I was crazy buying an "Old" vehicle but that's what I wanted, a old 4x4 with removable top (I love warm weather) and something I could tinker with and fix most problems my self. I started looking for first gen Broncos, Scouts, FJs and older Jeeps but ended up with this one cause friend had built it for his son and he didn't like driving and old beater.

Unfortunately it's been sitting a few months as last summer I found out after it over heated the radiator fan wasn't working right, I rigged it to a toggle but I got busy and it sat, so now I'm working on getting it back on the road and looks like it needs a new head gasket. Well it will sit until April when my friend will help me tear into it.

In the mean time I'm getting parts to build it into an overland rig so I can do some this summer. I looked at buying or building a trailer but to pricy for me at the moment so I'll add a roof rack for tent, a winch and a few other cheaper mods just to get me out in the wild. The Jeep as it is now has a slight lift, 33s and custom bumpers.

I will update as parts come in and work gets done, Thanks Y'all.

I had a 92YJ as my first Jeep (am on number three now), and loved it. I still regret a bit to have sold it, but please don't tell my Gladiator ;-)

@SkinnySurfer_Thad it seems we found all four people in the world who like square headlights in this thread here.
I plan to never sale it even if I move onto a newer one, would love to get a JL Rubicon with the Diesel.

Drive it often. No vehicles do well when parked for extended periods.

ahh fond memories, a 258 with a carburetor.

Well new battery in! Drove around the block, but "Ol Patton" ain't running to well. Having an issue with idle, going through check list to fix it. But on the bright side running and got a box of goodies. My friend sent me a ham radio kit to install.

Well its been a while hope all is well. Finaly got the Jeep running, after 3 months of me tinker I got to my brother's place for help and turns out it was a simple fix... Now I'm looking at getting a newer Jeep as I'm looking to live in it semi full time, but we'll see after I get back to driving it around.

I know it’s been awhile but its been one crazy year! Hope y’all doing ok. Thought I had the Jeep running but it was still running rough, found antifreeze in the oil so next I’m replacing head gasket and hop it fixes the problem. After I get it running I’m going to build a small camper trailer and start doing some light over landing, also my brother is trying to plan a trip to either Utah or Colorado this summer to do some Jeeping with our Jeeps.
