At this point i'm thinking of just laying up some fiberglass, cutting to shape, cutting the slots for molle, and painting it. About 8 layers will do, wouldn't cost too much, depending on what materials i go with.

Check out the build videos on overland bound YT regarding center console. I know it's for a floor console but the methodology is the same. Start with cardboard, and build out what you're after. Tweak it.
Then you can build out of wood, metal or fiberglass.
I thought it was a great turn out. With the limited engagement online, i was afraid the meetup was dead, but there were maybe 50 vehicles there, with great people.
