Planning a road trip from the bay area, but our first stop is in Redding, CA and slowly make our way up north to Bend, OR by I5-N and then 97N. Then cut over to Eugene, OR VIA 58N, then down south to Mendicino CA with I5- S, 199 and 101.
Are there any scenic off road detours that are...
I'm trying to tune my CB antenna, but I don't really know of any places that have wide enough space to get my antenna tuned in. Any spots you guys know of?
Since my friends had something last minute pop up, I'm going solo on this trip. It'd be nice to have some other rigs tag along, especially since I want to check out some new areas like Leavitt Lake and Coyote Flats.
Are there any places that I can take my friends to go shoot my AR near/in Alabama Hills/Bishop while we're there?
Even though it is BLM land, I figure we can't shoot everywhere, since it is a tourist area....
thanks!
I've been contemplating pulling the trigger on a front and rear bumper for it's aesthetics, and more importantly, the functionality for my 4th gen 4runner. But I can't really seem to see the real worth in going that route, so I figure someone who owns a front and/or rear bumper could shed some...
I own a Cobra 19 DX IV, and I've been using it without flaws with a Midland magnetic mount Antenna. I only plug in the mic and put the antenna up on top of the roof when I go wheeling, and remove it shortly after wheeling, since I park my truck in a parking structure everyday. I'm past my...
I am planning to order a pair of Trail gear sliders for my 4th gen 4runner. Due to the fact that they need to be welded on, and I don't have a welder, does anyone know of a fab shop(welder), who can weld these sliders on once I order them, and get them, in the Sacramento area?
Thanks alot!
Hello all,
I am planning to get a CB as I am going into remote locations that aren't picking up any cell signal. Not to mention, it would be nice to have when I go out on group outings. However, I don't plan on using it so often, so i'd like to make it A) easy to remove and put back B)...
Hello all,
I recently got rear ended by a lady who wasn't paying attention to the road. I need some recommendations on a collision body shop to get my car back on the road. I currently reside in the South Bay, but soon moving up to Sac. Most likely, I will try to get the work done here in the...
Planning to go camping with my relatives this summer along 395, in the Eastern Sierras. I've been to Buttermilk road for climbing and Alabama Hills, but are there any other places that you guys recommend I should check out/trails I should hit up while i'm there? I'll be going solo rig, which is...
Hello all,
I've camped during the summer when temps were reasonable. Less than 90 degrees, and there were things to do, such as sit by a lake or go swim in a lake. But this year, I'm thinking about heading to Alabama Hills and Bishop where temps look to be 100+..
How is camping there...
Hello all,
I figure I might as well create a thread to see what trails/camp sites they enjoy going to for a short weekend trip, from friday night to sunday night.
Reason I ask is because I would like to try out some new places, but don't really have much knowledge of where to go.
That...
Hello all,
Thought it would be interesting to make a thread on what others bring on their journey out or use at their camp site that make the outdoors experience a whole lot better, that someone may not normally bring. Would be interesting to learn someone else's camp "hacks".
To start...
Hello all,
Background:
I've been aching to build some body armor for my rig but I can't really find any information on what should be ideal. My background has nothing to do with metal fabbing, so this will be my first time doing something like this. But I will be asking my friend who does...
Hello all,
I've been aching to go to Hollister Hills since i've never been there before. I have a stock 4th gen 4runner, so I have a few questions.
1. Is it safe to go solo(single rig)?
2. What recovery gear should I be bringing with me?
3. What trails do you recommend I go on with a stock...
Hello all,
I'm planning on making a camping trip with my friends and I'd like to take them wheeling to get to camp, and wake up the next morning to watch the sunrise while fishing.
Ideally, I'd like to camp right along the water, and be able to take them on a dirt trail to get to camp...
Hello all,
I'm planning on getting a light bar either hidden behind the grille, or on the roof rack. In addition, an awning light and a few more amenities. However, I was wondering what other auxiliary items do you have?
Also, where did you guys opt to mount your switches? I ask because I...
Post this because I'm in the market for one... So.. which do you prefer? Why?
I'm leaning more towards the hitch rack because its supposedly more fuel efficient, only downside, being that it can get snagged on certain obstacles....
Hello all,
To start this off:
I own a 2012 Impreza 2.0i and i've lifted it with 1" spacers. I opted to go with spacers since I don't want to shell out $400+ on springs, and have to spend more money on top to accommodate the lift, adjusting for camber, etc. My last trip to a dirt trail, I...
Hello all,
As a backpacker, I've always had the mindset to carry light weight foods such as dehydrated foods, or non-perishable(canned) goods. Perishable goods depending on the trip. Nonetheless, put them quite far away from you while at camp. Now that i've come into the overland scene a...
