Does your mattress have the option to be converted into a sofa? I had a hard time getting it to work and found that there was a mistake on some of the covers that didn't allow it to function correctly. They were great about replacing it and now it works great. It was a bit of a wrestle to get...
I had the same issue with my previous trailer at 500' tongue weight with heavy duty Ironman springs. I'm on a 100 series Land Cruiser so it's probably a little different. After some trial and error (and money) I finally landed the plane with the Tough Dog Progressive springs. They are amazing...
That makes sense. It would give you plenty of space for sharp switchbacks, assuming you can give up the roof rack space. I opted for the tent as a guest room/nap space. Those options added up quickly.
Was the place in your pics Canyon Sin Nombre in Anza Borrego? Looks just like it. I was there...
NICE !! That's the wrap I was going to pick but I had an opportunity to grab a black one that was a canceled order. I'm fine with it but, just to be way too vain, I wanted the topo lines 'cause they match my gold :/ 100 series. Love your 80 series. I'm thinking you could use a little more...
Do you have the Max Coupler? I’m about to extend mine out for more clearance between the trailer spare and my Land Cruiser spare on the back of my Slee bumper. The photo is factory. Randy mentioned another 8” avail.
Thanks 1Louder. I did ended up with your 2nd suggestion and loosened the spare enough to get the straps in. I had to readjust the buckles to all land above the tire but it worked. Now that the spare is re tightened, it’s not going anywhere.
The cost for the “sleep in” trailer was much higher than most common “sleep on” RTT types. I paid it to keep her engaged. Even if for a few weekenders- it allows me the freedom to do the bigger guy’s trips with little or no resistance.
The 3,4 day limit works for me too. The furnace is a deal breaker for her. I also like to take at least one 10 day expedition each year and it always turns into a guys trip. I’m actually fine with that for now anyways. I get homesick without her by day 10. Can’t live with, can’t live without.
Wow. Great post. I’ve been lucky enough to have a camping-tolerant wife but still wanted the comforts. 6 years ago, I purchased a Fleetwood Evolution pop up that had a toilet/shower inside but without the walls, just a curtain, plus heater etc. It was awesome and spacious, pretty 4x4 capable...
Nice mods. I’m only a few weeks into my new one but I have several mods in mind. Would love to hear about more of yours. I think my first one is to get the trasharoo to fit around my spare on the tongue mount. It is too tight against the box.
