Had to make a change to the sleeping arrangements after the shakedown overnighter. Although the sleeping platform was comfortable, maneuvering inside the back of the Runner was much more difficult than this 61 year old cares to to deal with.
So, I stepped up to the Gazelle T3x. I took my time...
Added the Ram Mount for my Garmin GPSMAP66i with Inreach technology. With my onX OffRoad and this little bit of technology, I’ll never get lost! And, if I do….I’m Inreach!
Had built one previously before Jackery and Ecoflow and others really became a thing. Did it mostly to learn the basics of solar power and battery storage.
The upgrade is ~430W 36AH with 1000W inverter. Plan is to add a DC battery charger so I can plug it into the 4Runner while traveling...
Took a while, but finally got one of the drawers built for the drawer system and cargo deck. This is the gear drawer (recovery gear is in the Pelican case on top).
The kitchen drawer is going to take a little more design.
Now I just need some organization with some @step22gear. On the list!!
Added some rooftop storage with a Pelican V700 case. Decide to try and anchor it without drilling holes in the actual case. We’ll see how this works. More room inside now.
Just installed the Pedal Commander in my 2019 4Runner.
So far, works as advertised! Love the app and Bluetooth capability. Looking forward to getting off-road to test it further!
Got a great deal at 4Runner Lifestyle! Disclaimer - I bought it and have no affiliation with 4Runner Lifestyle...
Added some minor mods to the Runner
WeatherTech sunroof wind deflector to try and deflect some of the wind from under the rack and reduce the noise. Seems to be working so far.
Lightened things up with some CaliRaised LED PODS with sidelights and Rugged Ridge X-Clamps to mount them to the...
Santa left me a great piece of gear for the overlanding / off grid property kit. Ryobi 40V Chainsaw.
Solar generator or onboard inverter. No gas required.
Limited in use and limitations recognized, but better than nothing!!
And, on the Cubby Good Piece of Gear scale this rates a “Great...
I needed to make room and and recover some cargo space. I had some extra wood laying around and instead of selling it on the open market to make some money to buy Goose Gear, I built this instead.
Drawers will be added later, and I need to redo the spray adhesive on the deck carpet. But this...
This turned into that!
Rago Fabrication Low Profile Bumper
Smittybilt X2O 12K winch
Excited to be able to self recover again!!
Let the adventures begin (again)!
Headed to an undisclosed location in New Mexico - attempt at sounding somewhat sarcastic and sinister intended.
This is the Runner’s first foray off road. She handled it well.
Now let the work begin.
