Yes it opens. Just thinking about if I put stuff on top like a kayak. I used to have tent on truck I still have bed rails I can use.

I live in minot and haved camped a lot this year. One place I enjoyed the most was Big horn national forest WY. Our camp site was at 10000 ft . Night sky had most stars I have ever seen. If you get change I think it is a must see for camping destination.

Here in North Dakota there has been hail that size this year. I left early couple week ago because storm was coming that ending up producing penny size hail. Trust me I don't purposely want to be out in that weather. But place I was in it was a freak storm. This was more about what if ?
