I want to mount a panel to my jeeps freedom tops, probably not permanently, something that will not be blown off, but something that can be removed when not camping.
Any ideas?
100 watt panel seems the appropriate size.
When I go camping, I use 2 large Plano cases so mounting to the rack won't work.
Hello, I'm looking for some advice/knowledge.
I ordered 2 light pods and 2 pigtails. I want to wire them directly to an aux switch.
Will the pigtail be enough or do I need an entire harness with switch and relay?
I believe the aux switch has power and relay already wired, so so could some...
I just received a new heart, and it was extremely rough! Because my chest was cut open, it will be a long recovery, and can't even sit up front of the vehicle for months. Small bumps hurt, so I'd imagine no offroading for a long time. Sad because I planned a cool seqioua trip with my wife, my...
I want to take my fiance to see the huge trees, as she's never been before.
What are some good overlanding areas we can camp at, and still be somewhat close by to the park?
In a few weeks, I'll be heading towards sequoia. Anyone know of some good camping spots, away from campgrounds?
Preferably with no one around?
I was pointed towards the north side of sequoia.
My 2016 wrangler was rear ended by a Silverado and was totalled. Was bummed out.
But used the insurance money on a down payment on a 'new to me' 2021 wrangler turbo diesel.
Came with a bunch of stuff.
Tailgate folding table.
Gmsr antenna.
Roofrack.
Tailgate reinforcement.
Banks derringer/super...
Jeep died, I don't know how it happened or what this even means. Called my uncle and he says it's fucked and likely they will replace it.
Does that mean I lose all my aftermarket parts?
Did a little big pf rock crawling and now my sterring is off.
Is the tie rod easy to install myself? Any recommendations on a decent priced tie rod? Not trying to spend a lot right now.
I usually keep a camp knife or hatchet in the back of my jeep, maybe several
I find a knife easiest to split wood, by batoning it, takes much less space than a wood splitting axe, and I can use it to cut food.
My current battery (jackery 500) will shut off if it doesn't send out more than 10 watts for a few hours, my fridge can drop to 1 watt for hours, hence the battery shutting off.
Is there a battery that will keep my fridge on indefinitely?
I've been using a small portable butane stove, but it seems I need to upgrade to a slightly larger stove, one that uses the small propane bottles.
Any decent stoves that aren't too expensive?
I've been looking for a portable fridge that is small, but havent found any that would fit behind my passenger seat. I have found 1, but is about 3 to 4 times the price of similar capacity.
The largest it could be would 18" by 13", height not being so important.
It is the only spot I have...
so last night my battery died on my jeep.
So I got an AGM battery this morning and was thinking how bad it could of been had I been out exploring on my own.
I was thinking of mounting a solar panel on my hardtop, and run the wire somehow to my battery, with some kind of controller in between...
I got a rotopax 2 gallon fuel container, mounted on my roofrack, and noticed it is already leaking.
It was purchased through amazon and past the 30 day return by a week.
I have a trip in 2 days, and was hoping to have extra fuel for the trip.
In a few weeks I am planning to go from burns canyon to big bear, camping along the way.
Hopefully there isnt a big storm prior to the trip, as it can get icy.
Anyone here go out by themselves?
I have Sunday monday Tuesdays off, and dont know anyone else with a rig.
So most of my trips have been solo.
I hear a lot of people say to never wheel alone, but I have no choice.
Most people have Saturday sundays off and do their trips then, which I can only...
My jeep is pretty much stock, other than the wheel spacer and slightly larger tires (285 70 17).
Got her in 2016, and did some offroading with some friends and also solo.
I am about to order a roof rack basket, along with some rotopax fuel cans, two 2 gallon and mount them to the roof rack...
