US West Las Vegas Outing - Mormon Well Rd

Won’t be able to make it, but have fun. It’s an easy drive and great place for the people that enjoy photography. These were both taken not far from the wildlife refuge

Black Friday & Cyber Monday wishlist

as far as the Garmin InReach, they are having a BF/CM sale that looks price controlled. On sale everywhere almost (Bass Pro, Best Buy, REI, Amazon, etc.) for $374.99 for the InReach Explorer+. Finally got one, but now I need to get the Garmin and Gaia subscriptions

Rigid Industries hyperspot VS Baja Designs racer edition VS VisionX Light Cannon

That LP series looks great on truck body styles like yours. If you didn’t have the OnX bar already then those LP9’s would be a perfect fit/look. Don’t know your feelings about Facebook marketplace or craigslist, but I often see good deals on used stuff here in Vegas. Do you have any local, small...

Rigid Industries hyperspot VS Baja Designs racer edition VS VisionX Light Cannon

To kind of reiterate what Corbet was saying the spot lenses on the OnX bar might be a good thing to try if you haven’t already. You gave great ditch lights and fog lights to fill in close view. The lenses are a way cheaper trial than new spot lights

Rigid Industries hyperspot VS Baja Designs racer edition VS VisionX Light Cannon

I was looking really hard to get an OnX+ for my truck, but found a great deal on a 20” S8 and the S8 was able to fit in my grill with a little fabrication. The OnX housing was too big for where I wanted to put it. What lenses do you have on the bar? Driver/combo, wide angle, spot? Comparing raw...

Rigid Industries hyperspot VS Baja Designs racer edition VS VisionX Light Cannon

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, spots could definitely help the wildlife issue haha. I think the LP6 isn’t much more than that racer edition. Plus, they look a lot better on full size trucks like yours. I’ve been going through a place locally in Las Vegas that has great “locals” deals, but they’re also...

Rigid Industries hyperspot VS Baja Designs racer edition VS VisionX Light Cannon

Not trying to undermine your choices, but more to understand for myself as I don’t have much experience and would like to learn more, but what steers you towards these options? From my understanding they’re more of a laser focus (1.5* - 4*) and intended specifically for racing to give the driver...

Let's see those full size rigs - Trucks & SUV

Had to take off the rtt to start building an actual rack for it to work with a tonneau cover. Also, got material to build rock sliders...mainly just do t like the GM Parts running boards. Fabbed up some mounts and modified the grill to accept a 20” Baja Designs S8, which works incredibly. Want...

Sometimes you chase those cloudy skies for that fire-lit sunset and other times you wait for some clear skies to get to the stars

glad to see there's some NC people around. I lived in Mooresville for 9 years working in the nascar scene. Miss the Charlotte area and all the great hiking nearby. Looking forward to what you make out of your rig

I think one of the driving factors for me wanting to pursue overlanding is to get into learning more about nature/landscape photography

Great stuff! I just got my a7r3 last year that was my first "advanced" camera in probably more than a decade and love learning to use it.
