Thanks for posting, this thread is great!
Ok, go easy but please tell me if I’m about to blow up my Jeep…
I have a Victron Orion 12-24v 15amp DC to DC charge controller wired directly to my starter battery under the seat of my Jeep. I think it’s 8 awg wire. It charges my Goal Zero Yeti 1000...
It's funny you say that, the LX has taken longer than I thought with the fabricator and I'm now considering selling my daily driver BMW 3 series convertible and buying a Tundra as well. I'd look at the Tacoma's but need the front bench seat for my wife and kids. We have four.
It's taken longer with the fabricator than I anticipated but here's a few more update photos. There's a few photos of the rear bumper progress and one when I took it for a spin briefly before it had a front bumper. It will have a custom rear swing out tire carrier and a super winch in the front.
Has anyone tried to put a roof-top tent on top of a pop-up truck camper? I have a fairly large family and I like the idea of a truck camper instead of a trailer however I need more sleeping capacity. I'm curious if the pop-up mechanism is strong enough to support the weight of the tent and...
Hey everyone, I'm new to Overland Bound and overlanding. As I'm going through upgrading my truck and everyone I know asks if I'm having a midlife crisis, I thought it might be nice to share with a community that understands! So, I decided to start a build thread here.
I bought a 1999 LX470...

I just bought a Snomaster Expedition Series based on some online reserch, YouTube review comparisons. It wasn't even on my list before that. I was thinking Dometic.
I'll be using the Snomaster this weekend for the first time with a Goal Zero 1000. My solar panel is on back order so hoping to...
I just bought a 1999 Lexus LX470 weekend camping toy I'm working on. I have fair size family (wife + 4) so butts take up most of the space inside, gear needs to go on top.
I'm mostly surprised at how low most of the ratings are. The Gobi and the Eezi-Awn K9 were the highest load ratings I've...
Warning: I'm a newbie!
I've been researching roof racks and I've noticed they have load ratings that vary wildly. Specifically, Eezi-Awn K9 claims 500lbs dynamic and 1000 lbs static, which seems sufficient to put a roof top tent with my wife and I in it and maybe a kid or two (I have four!)...
