Ran over the hill today to the Ruby Marshes in northern Nevada about an hour and a half from our place. Nice to have these awesome places close to home.Checked out some birds and snatched up a pile of elderberries to make some syrup out of.

Well the noce thing about nevada is if you take it at face value for what,can be seen from the road its not much to write home about. However if you have a little taste for dirt roads and whats around the next corner and dont mind taking the road less traveled Nevada is an amazing place to live...
I happen to live about 4 miles from the entrance to this special place. The Ruby Mountains are called the Alps of Nevada. Spectacular waterfalls , mountain goats, the best mule deer hunting you'll ever find. Took my two little crumbsnatchers for a Slurpee and a Canyon run to pass some time today.
