    Land Rover Registry

The CDL (center locking differential) turns the AWD discos into a true 4x4 meaning, that power is sent to the front and rear axle evenly and regardless of wheel spin. Without it if one wheel spins that's where all the power will be transferred. With the CDL engaged you can lift a front wheel...

Older defenders and RRC had borg warner TC. The D1/defenders/RRC share the same R&P however the D2 is different.

    Colorado Trails

Ah I totally misread your original post. My apologies, best bet is to try and hit some of the high alpine stuff super early in the day or mid week to avoid people. With how crowded and popular off-roading has become I don't pass up checking out every spur or side trail (legal ones) that I can in...

Who owns a Land Rover ?

If the concern is if it can handle the weight or not, that will not be an issue. Whoever built it did a fantastic job and it adequately tied in to the frame and it has taken a severe beating off-road with zero issues. Adding the swing out will not alter anything below the bumper or the towing...

Who owns a Land Rover ?

Tire carrier on door has been flipped already to fit a larger tire but I'd like to take the weight of the 33" tire off the door. Also would like to move the hi-lift jack to the swing out vs on the front bumper or roof rack. Post is already welded onto the bumper so just designing and welding...

Who owns a Land Rover ?

I don't know, it was on the vehicle when I purchased it and have not see another one like it. Whoever built it did a fantastic job, I just need to finish it by building a tire swing out, bumper has a post already welded on it.

2003 Land Rover Discovery 2 Build

I think I'd mount it to your roof rack before mounting to the hood. Rather add the weight up top vs a heavy projectile attached to thin aluminum in the event of an accident, windshield nor hood are going to keep that from coming into the cabin.

"Nanuuq" my Land Rover Discovery 2 diesel swap, ...forever a project!

my understanding of that front "cross member" is that it was there just to keep the stock driveshaft (that liked to fail) from dropping in the front and then pogo sticking back into the transmission. It's held in with what 4 M4 bolts and its so thin walled I pulled mine a while back to keep...

it is a fly rod holder. It holds 3 fully rigged fly rods so I don't have to set up and break down the rods each time I hit the river.

Agreed, they just don't solve the space requirements for me. The gladiator has the space but still has a longer wheel base and a huge price tag. Certainly impressive as dedicated wheeling rigs.

Thanks! For the money you can't beat them, anything 20 years old will need some love but considering you can find a well built one with close to 100k miles for $4-6k I'll take the weak motor vs double or triple the cost for a stock LC with 200k+ miles. It's a shame that the only solid front...

    Fly Fishing

Got a few days of fishing in last week up near Grand Lake, CO and got to test out my new rod vault. Very nice to not have to break down or set up a rod from scratch every morning or worrying about breaking the rod stuffing it inside the vehicle.

Who owns a Land Rover ?

I used to be, grew up in Fairfax and went to ODU/lived in Norfolk for 7-8 years. Don't know any Rover owners back that way, just some highly highly modified jeeps (more like buggys at this point).

Nearing her final form. How she is sitting after adding TF +3" adjustable shocks and 1" spring spacers. Went out Saturday morning for a shakedown and the added height eliminated some minor rubbing issues I was fighting and the added shock travel is well worth it.
