Favorite truck bed setups with no topper?

Eric, just saw your post. Is that the new style Bedrock? I have the old style Bedrock with round crossbars and two Yakima Lockjaw bike mounts. Had to search long and hard to find the Lockjaws = found some NOS. I like the Lockjaws since you can lock the bikes on without using a cable, it's built in.

Leitner rack with Softopper or similar

@Scout , I appreciate the response that that doesn't really answer my question in the original post. Can anyone confirm or deny if the Softtopper will work with the Leitner?

    What is the one spice

Salt is actually a mineral, not a spice. Therefore, it does not lose its flavor over time like spices and herbs do. Now, as to the one spice - nope, not gonna limit myself to one. Garlic powder, cardamon, cumin, smoked paprika, Herbs de Provence, etc. I like choices.

I don't understand open bed trucks with racks and tents.

Most of the coal production in the my part of the state (northern mountains) ceased back in the 70's/early 80's. The majority of the coal comes out of the southern and southwestern parts of the state. Appreciate the humor though.

I don't understand open bed trucks with racks and tents.

I presume you're talking about road salt rusting them out? I'm in WV and we use a lot of salt. Never once had a lock or nut corrode up on me. Do you have to cut your lug nuts off when you change a tire? Also, by no stretch of the imagination can OH be considered northeast in my book.

Also precisely why I don't drive a black, white or silver/gray vehicle.

Leitner rack with Softopper or similar

Throwing this out to see if anyone has any experience. I'm considering the Leitner Active Cargo System rack but would like a way to temporarily enclose stuff in the bed in certain situations. I've seen that the Softopper can be used under the All-Pro bedrack and maybe the Bestop one also. Does...

Off topic but where do you get 5'x5' plywood? All I ever see is 4'x8' or 4'x12'?

    Phone Mounts

There are tons of options out there. Personally, I don't want to mount something to my dash with double sided adhesive so most of the dash mounts are out. Window suction stuff is okay. I think sticking a mount in a vent is a really bad idea if you want heat or cool air. The CD mounts might be...

I don't understand open bed trucks with racks and tents.

I think part of the issue is folks who buy pickups never intending to use them as trucks. I have a small homestead and haul rocks, straw, mulch, wood, etc. in my truck. I also carry my mt. bikes on a Yakima Bedrock with Lockjaw mounts that puts the bikes above cab height. Canoes - I pop on the...

GPS Coordinate Format - What say you?

The beauty of UTM is it's essentially a metric system. It uses a 1000 meter grid broken down into 100 meters and 1 meters. Fortunately that's reasonably translatable to yards and feet also and easy enough to eyeball on a gridded map.
