US West Pinecrest Lake, California, Stanislaus NF Area Run

Hello! We live in Twain Harte on highway 108 and just a heads up that there is a ton of road damage up here on the forest service roads. Just be prepared for downed trees, washouts, and road closures (even on the easy roads). Have a great time - it’s a beautiful area!

My wife and I would like to overland with another like-minded couple who know something about N.S.L., S.O.P., 3 A.M., and E.G.W. to name a few. Please contact us if you are interested.

I watched the YouTube video Overland Bound posted called, night photography basics. Great video. The picture below is our best photo from that night. Our first time at night photography.

Adding a layer of protection with Herculiner

Oh, one thing I learned was that if your trying to match the existing spray liner don't use a roller. If you use a paintbrush and dab the liner on you can ALMOST make it look like a spray job.

Adding a layer of protection with Herculiner

I have no preference for any of these products. I help a guy once who was using Raptor Liner. I honestly couldn't til the difference. My only advice is to follow the instruction exactly and have everything that you'll need before you begin.

Adding a layer of protection with Herculiner

After many miles of dirt roads, the front of our offroading trailer is taking a beating. Rocks also land on top of the wheel finders and scratch up the paint.

Cast Iron or No? (weight right now is not an issue for me)

I will always vote yes for cast iron, especially from a dutch oven. More often now than I used to I reach for a cast iron waffle iron. You don't have to use it to make waffles. For example, hash browns in a waffle iron take less than half the time, saving stove fuel. Try eggs and bacon or pour...

    WABDR

My wife and I completed the whole thing on 07.12.19. We took our time and completed it in 7 days. We had a Washington state discover pass (not a USFS permit) and a campfire permit as well, but no one checked us to see if we had one and we dispersed camped every night. All of the Duel-Sport...

    McBride Springs

Why would you ever want to go to McBride Springs, Nevada? If you're into photography and wild horses and you like to explore it's worth a trip. I have been to McBride Springs three different times and getting there is fun, but if you're like me and you don't like to backtrack getting out of...

    Camp cookware pots/pans

My wife and I finally upgraded to A brand called Magma. My only regret is that I wish we would've done it sooner. Don't waste your money as we did with REI and Cabela's pots and pans. I do however still use are cast.
