    Question about CBI Offroad Fab.......

That’s really weird. Looking at the first image it looks like there is some horizontal bar that is longer than on the rack you got. Good luck!

    Rock sliders?

Rachel and I bought the DOM sliders from 4XInnovations. They have been great, but to be honest, we’ve not had to test them. We don’t really do The rock crawling thing. Lots of back roads, dirt, mud, sand, and some rocky trails. But we have never banged into anything. We have used them to...

Need help learning how to get started

Here is a link to USDA Forrest Service motor vehicle use maps. You should be able to find designated camping areas and dispersed camping areas on there. Gaia GPS has an MVUM layer too. https://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/programs/ohv/ohv_maps.shtml

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Rachel and I installed a Ram Mount ball on the drivers side A-pillar of our 3rd Gen 4Runner. We were looking for a little more room to mount accessories. We followed the install here. Parts needed - Ram mount ball for motorcycle handlebar M6-1.0x40mm allen head bolt with washer- purchased at...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Rachel and I hit a local trail here in Va for a couple of hours. Before we headed out, we threw an additional cross bar on our Sherpa rack to provide a better base for the Max Trax mount. The mount seems way more solid now, super happy with that little upgrade. We were getting some wiggle with...

What knives do you guys recommend?

I’ve carried the benchmade griptillian or the spyderco delica for years. Love both!

    What could you give up

100% agree. I was just throwing out what I thought would be the lightest and simplest option. There are definitely trade offs in terms of deliciousness.

    What could you give up

I’d give up fresh food. Go all dehydrated with some fruit or veg as snacks.

    Lets see some trail photos!

I found this photo from a trip Rachel and I took to Ocala Florida back in 2018.

An overwhelmed newbie from New Jersey

I found this member’s post on a route in PA which should be close to you. It looks like a cool trip, not too crazy. The OP included .gpx files you can use to plot a trip. There are bound to be some VT routs in the overland routes page.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

AEM transmission temp gauge is on the way. Rachel and I figured this made sense now that we added that transmission cooler. Try to keep the heat in check!

    Camp stove cooking

Rachel and I try to keep it really simple. We use a cooler, 2 burner stove, and a jet boil with French press for coffee and to boil water for freeze dried food. We carry a cast iron griddle that we cook most everything on. Our go-to for lunch is sandwiches or wraps. Breakfast is usually a...

    Show me your drawer systems!

Rachel and I run a drawer made by Sherpa Equipment Company (link) but I don’t see it on their site any more. Love this thing! Really improved our life around camp. On day trips we use it for recovery gear. On longer trips, it serves as our kitchen.

    Camp Kitchen Must Haves

I keep a MSR kitchen knife in my kit. My pocket knife is of questionable cleanliness, so having a dedicated blade made sense to me.

    Hanging cook table

Awesome idea! Is it heavy enough not to swing in a hard breeze? Im def going to try one of these.
