August trip to Vermont and Main

Looking to do a 10-14 camping trip through Vermont and Maine starting on or about 8/8/20. Looking for one or two other rigs to join rather than wheeling solo. I’m a commercial photographer and my partner is in retail. We have several years camping/overland travel. Current rig is a 05 Xterra...

Electric Winch vs Hi-Lift Winching Kit?

I’ve used the Hilift as a winch a couple of times and it worked very well and I can recommend it. That being said, last winter I was out in the Pine Barrons in NJ and was nearly caught out. I was by myself and I know that’s not the right way to wheel but that how I roll. I now have a winch and...

I'm interested in one of those as well. It seems it would eliminate the condensation problem. Let me know what your order and how it works. Thanks

    looking for tent heater

I’m going to start by saying you shouldn’t do anything that you feel uncomfortable with. I’ve used a MrBuddy heater this winter in a tent with absolutely no problems. There is quite a bit of condensation but that’s the only down side I found so far. Mr Buddy heaters do not produce CO because of...

US East New Year in the Pines

Sorry this is my first attempt to set this up. Here's more info: I've reserved GB017 at the Godfrey Bridge campground, as of today (11/15/19), all the camp spaces are available. I'm planing on staying Monday 12/30 thru the 2nd of Jan. This is a great place to wheel and with the exception of...

Finally joined the fridge/freezer club! Costway 54qt

So just a few notes on the Costway. Was out for a week, on 24/7 used the car batt, as we were on the trails every day and it worked as advertised. Condensation will build as you use the fridge and it freezes to the sides just like the old fridges. Overall very happy with the unit. Any questions ?

Why not just a brush guard?

I have come to the same conclusion, there are 5 or 6 small firms that do aftermarket front bumpers for Xterra's and I looked at all of them. My best resource was my 4X4 instructor at OffRoad Consulting, Kyle Butcher. He's on the trails in Pa. everyday and could use anything he wants, he's got an...

Finally joined the fridge/freezer club! Costway 54qt

OK: I'm using the Costway 54. 54qt Two 14ga + and - Between the two separate wires I've run from the battery Yes I cut the wire that came with the fridge and put SAE connector on both ends of the cut wire so I could still use the cig plug if needed. The separate jump pack is just for jump...

Finally joined the fridge/freezer club! Costway 54qt

Well I've had my fridge for about two weeks now and did a 4 night camping trip last weekend and fridge worked great. Just ran a 14ga line from my battery directly to the fridge. I did splice in a SAE connecter so I could do away with the cig plug. Battery shows 12.4V after 15hrrs of running and...
