What's your latest camping gear purchase, and what caused you to buy it?

Well it has withstanded 30+ mph winds and storms including a couple of serious cloudbursts. It's pretty stable with no flat sides. Nice digs for a trip.

What's your latest camping gear purchase, and what caused you to buy it?

I got a 4.5 meter one and I love it. Portable tiny house for the long trips. Thinking about a tent stove down the road.

    I FINALLY got a fridge!!

No going back now. Nothing like a dry, cold place to keep your food and without the Ice taking up the majority of the room! Enjoy!!

    Battery box or dual batteries?

I've been using the Flexopower 444 to power my CFX50 fridge and it's been working just great. A few people have not had such a good experience. It cost $100 more than that Jakery unit.

    Flexopower Lithium444 Setup Open Discussion/Questions

Yeah, the LED's are like your gasoline gauge... only worse. I use an inline dc volt meter to see the load drain and then do the math.

    Flexopower Lithium444 Setup Open Discussion/Questions

Wow, I feel badly for you guys because mine works as advertised with the exception of the LED indicators. When the unit is not charging, the LEDs are mostly all lit unless I 've drawn the battery down a good bit. When I am charging the unit using the 12v input , either solar or cigarette...

    Flexopower Lithium444 Setup Open Discussion/Questions

Back from the 8 day trip and I am a fortunate guy. My CFX50 never got to the point of drawing enough power out of the 444 to go to the 3rd flashing led. The solar panel kept it topped off thanks to very sunny days and moderately cool nights (low 40's). The 12v cigarette adapter worked fine the...

    Flexopower Lithium444 Setup Open Discussion/Questions

Man! Do I feel fortunate! I have my Flex Power plugged into the 12 V cigarette socket in the car and that is keeping it charged with all the LEDs lit. My CFX50 has been staying between 32 and 36° entire trip from Los Angeles out to Utah..

    Flexopower Lithium444 Setup Open Discussion/Questions

So I got the Flexopower 444 and a Dometic CFX50 with the intention of only using the Flexopower for the fridge. I bought the 2 Goal Zero cables; One that "regulates" the voltage and the other that allows you to "combine" the outputs of a lithium Goal zero unit. And then 2 of the 6mm barrel to...

    Ordered my Flexopower Lithium444

The Goal Zero combiner cable has the wrong size dc barrel connectors that come with it. Rather than cutting it up, I went to Powerwerx, bought some 2, 5mm x 2.1mm barrel to bare wire, then "Y'd" them together so that they would integrate into the Goal Zero constant voltage cable and that will...

    Ordered my Flexopower Lithium444

Ok, I just ordered my 444 today and I went with the Yeti cables suggested as well. I'm looking forward to seeing my real world experience with this and my fridge... except that its maximum operating temperature is stated as 104 degrees F. That sure is not much. It regularly hits that for...

In search of: The Best Ground Tents

Like my older Hobitat.. it's a (almost) two room place! LOts of condensation in the Garage IMHE. Thinking of Canvas for colder camping with a stove inside.

    Battery box or dual batteries?

Also have been reading TOO much... Going with a National Luna Battery Box and 125ah agm as I need to bring the fridge along in different vehicles from time to time. EDIT: Decided to try the Flexopower 444 first... Actually a less expensive option to the Luna but... less AH VERY portable It...

Brick House: Dometic PLB40 Portable Power Pack Preview

Ugh, just make an outfitted, sturdy box to put my own battery into please. Shipping from AU is too pricey.

    Portable battery power center DIY

So I’m a new member. My dilemma is that there are a number of Australian manufacturers that make the product I want…almost. Either way, the shipping alone dictates that I DIY it. 12volt portable power center (60AH up to 125AH) I want to charge from 3 different sources, not at the...
