    2020 Tundra Starting the Build.

Fellow Tundra owner here, congrats. I will offer one thing for advice The negative terminal should be first off/ Last on. I have heard of (ironically enough on a Tundra) people connect negative first then positive and it toasted their ECU (I think it was ECU anyway it fried some...

Leitner ACS Forged Tonneau and overlanding

I had the ACS Classic and moved to the forged about 8 months ago. I have a 2016 DC Tundra. I have done mild to moderate off road with a James Baroud RTT and haven't had any issues or even felt like there would be issues. But that being said check what the load limit on the Tonneau cover is...

    RTT MATTRESS

The baroud mattress is “hourglass” shaped so it was complete custom. I think we went with 5 or 6 inches thick. It is roughly king sized. We went with “mid” tier options. There was 1 higher grade than we went with. We paid around 1600. It stays in all the time and we are able to close it...

What do you guys do with your dogs?

So we have both a RTT and a teardrop. The RTT we move back and fourth between the truck and the teardrop. It's my wife, son (7), our 90lb mastiff shepard and me. During warm camping he sleeps in the annex. Cold with teardrop he sleeps in the teardrop at the foot of the bed, but he usually...

    RTT Automatic Leveling System

I just use leveling blocks when it's on my bed rack and the leveling posts when one trailer. A few years ago a guy on the Tundra forums tried (succeeded?) doing an automatic leveler. I followed it, what I remember it took a a long time plenty of cash and several iterations before he got it...

    Overland GPS - Garmin Overlander

We love ours, we bought it for less than $400 though. We have only used it a few times, the trail maps were good comparable to the tablet we were using. The best part for us was for on road driving. ( i have a Tundra) with the toyota nav I can't count the times we have had this experience."...

Nice Rack but What a Pain

Yeah the taco guys have it easy, I have a Tundra and had to drill for my Prinsu too. Did you drop the headliner when you installed or use drill stops? In the Tundra community there was an issue with people drilling into their curtain airbags when installing a similar roof rack (not Prinsu)...

    RTT - Hardshell vs Softshell???

We started with Tepui (the largest don't remember the name) with an annex. We loved it the annex was great for changing. But the zipper went on the cover and it ended up being such a pain to close. We then Moved to a James Baroud and love it set up and take down are great. The only drawback...

Looking for a tour of Roofnest tents.

Checkout rhinoadventuregear.com They don't have Roofnest but they do have Ikamper and James Baroud. They do have a showroom, but it's in San Marcos not that far from Santa Ana. My wife said that they have an open house on Sunday (29th)

    Off-road trailer upgrades

I liked the video, we have a bear (CARP Expedition) trailer. One question on the shower tent, did it come with the floor or did you make it. I checked site and there is no mention of floor.

    Under Armor advice

My wife has a 2018 4runner pro. Stock it comes with a nice front skid plate and the gas tank is pretty beefy. The first think we did for was sliders (Not steps). My Tundra came with steps and I F'd them up first time off road. I replaced with sliders. A few of my friends have since bought...

How heavy is your overlanding JKU?

I don't want to be that person and if you are fine with your rig that's your business. But you seem to be about 1,650 lbs over your vehicle GVWR. (safe load) I have a tundra that I am building and had grand plans and all sort of cool stuff I wanted to add. Then I heard about GVWR and learned...

    ARB compressor

You should be fine with the single. I had one on my Tundra and never had an issue. I think the most tires I filled was 10 ish and it was still going. Mostly it will just take longer,

    Drill thru roof rack install

Watch-out for airbags. I recommend dropping the headliner. There where a few tundra guys that drilled their airbags when installing.

    Air Compressor mount

Yes, I have one mounted under my hood for a few years with no issues. I love where mine is located next to the windshield washer container, unfortunately I don't think the company(XFAKTR) is in business anymore. Rago Fabrication, Victory 4x4 and SDHQ make mounts.

    4Runner Hatch Ladder

My wife has the gobi rack and ladder on her 4runner. I climb up it all the time (at 220 lbs) and there are no issues. We have not upgraded the struts and it has been on over 1 year and no issues ( no gear mounted on ladder). I have read that some people have issues and some don't also read...
