    Roof Top Tent (RTT) Question

I love my smittybilt rtt. Great quality that lasts, just like other brands, except i paid a whole lot less. Call it pragmatic. They have good customer service and the tent is very durable.

which is your favorite method of going to the restroom when over landing?

Buddy of mine bought one of those as well, but he still uses the double doodie bags with it, which is what makes more costly. But boy, are those storage friendly and easy to tote around, even if it's just to find a place to use it.

    Advice needed!!

If I'm ever to upgrade mine, I would go with a hardshell and easy open and close option, whether it be an 12v electric open/close system, or one with the gas strut assist of some kind. That way, I'm not climbing on top of the rig each time just to tuck the fabric back in as well as strap each...

which is your favorite method of going to the restroom when over landing?

One more thing I wanted to share with you on why I'm using a chem toilet now vs. my old toilet which I used double doodie bags on was that those bags were getting costly and in the course of a year I realized I had spent more than the cost of a chem toilet, which only requires water and 1 packet...

which is your favorite method of going to the restroom when over landing?

    1) Popup changing tent 2) Any portable cassette toilet (either ones that you drop a wag bag into, or a chem toilet) Both toilets have worked for me with a changing tent.

Hi Mike, there's a possibility I may not be able to make this trip. I will know for sure by early next week and update the group here. I know there were 1 or 2 of you that wanted to be on the waiting list, so just as soon as I find out, I'll update my RSVP. Thank you.

Tell us about your knock off gear fails

Bought some LED light strips (of course they are made in China) and it failed the first time I installed them and tried to turn them on. This was a good looking product too, except that thought went out the door the moment it failed and I had to curse everything "Made in China". I'll pay $20...

    ROOF TOP TENT - "MATTRESS"

I had the same issue with mine, so I purchased this 2" memory foam topper which now I'm super comfortable, and it folds down just fine in the RTT.

    Essential Solo Overland Recovery Gear

2nd that on the quality winch, plus you should definitely get enough long straps, shackles and snatch blocks. You won't always have trees directly in front of you, so having different angles of pull using snatch blocks can still help get you unstuck. Make sure to have a spare tire and a shovel...

    Foxwing/Batwing Awnings - Your Thoughts?

Thanks genocache! When I first considered the batwing awning, I said "I better just buy some extra pivot hinge replacements now" even though they now include 2 replacements. But the idea of just being able to swing out a freestanding(without the poles unless it's super high wind) awning would...

    Foxwing/Batwing Awnings - Your Thoughts?

I looked at this one as well and my initial thought was that it has a much better and more durable pivot hinge that isn't made of plastic that repeatedly breaks. However, they won't be releasing the passenger side awning until the end of August, which is the side I need for my setup...

Dave, I know you're not going, but wanted to ask how propane stovetops and burners work up in that 10K ft altitude, particularly @ Laurel Lakes/Funnel Lake. Please advise. Thanks!
